What is On Board?

Since 2017, the RTC has made major investments in On Board, a mobility plan designed to strengthen and diversify the region’s transportation network while providing more options to meet the needs of the broader population.

The On Board plan, developed through a combination of technical analysis and input from stakeholders, elected officials, and Southern Nevada residents, includes investments and strategies designed to diversify and expand regional travel opportunities and make it easier for people to get to work.

On Board provides a roadmap for mobility improvements and a flexible and adaptable strategy that responds to short- and long-term regional transportation needs, and will require major investments in Southern Nevada’s transportation infrastructure and programs.

Where We’ve Been, and Where We’re Going

To date, the On Board vision has been designed with input from more than 80,000 Southern Nevada residents. Through a series of three community surveys, you told us what’s important to you, where we should improve and invest, and what projects were most important to you.

During the past year, thanks to federal stimulus money, we were able to implement some of the On Board strategies and priorities that you told us were important to you:

We expanded transit service to provide more than 185,000 residents who previously did not have transit service access to hospitals, grocery stores, schools, major employment centers; we launched the Game Day Express transit services for Las Vegas Raiders and Vegas Golden Knight games; we made investments in technology to pilot an on-demand transit service and introduced contactless payment options; and we implemented a thorough 14-point safety plan to safe, clean, and accessible travel throughout the Valley.

Now, we’re ready to take more action.
